Malmaison Brasserie
Set in an imposing historic building on Belfast’s central Victoria Street, Malmaison is an ultra contemporary, ultra chic, urban retreat. The team behind Malmaison know that hotels aren’t just a place for sleeping, which is why a lot of thought and bags of style have gone in to the resident Brasserie, a hot spot in its own right. With its modernist feel the dining room has hints of 30s deco in its attractive black and red interior. Curved booths and luxurious upholstery are joined by sleek wood and low lighting while service is friendly yet unobtrusive. Two menus – one the simple brasserie menu, the other home grown and local – celebrate the best of Ireland’s ingredients while offering food which appeals to all palates.

Menu by Kevin Thornton
Belfast’s most highly acclaimed restaurant, Menu by Kevin Thornton, is situated in its most talked about hotel, The Fitzwilliam. Unusually appointed with communal tables and seating in the shape of scarlet long backed chairs straight from an alien spacecraft, marble fused with blond wood and mirrors, the Menu by Kevin Thornton dining room is well worth visiting all of itself. However, diners are rewarded for their visit with refreshingly affordable food of the highest quality from Michelin starred Thornton himself. Elegant but modern, simple but sumptuous, dishes at Menu by Kevin Thornton are made with fresh, fine ingredients and inspiration from around the globe.

Priory House Restaurant
Gourmands will go gaga for this amazing hidden gem tucked away in the grounds of the Benburb Valley Park in North Ireland. Set in a 17th stone building, this boho retreat is an amazing address that should be in every little black book, and the Priory House restaurant is spread out over three unique dining rooms plus a court yard for summertime al fresco dining and afternoon tea. We adore the Picasso room, a kooky space decorated with candy colours. Run by Sean and Ramune Farnan, Priory House uses locally sourced produce, and even has its own herb garden. The eclectic menu features a carpaccio of venison with a lemon and an award-winning apple pie.
